In a recent development, the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) National has issued a strong disclaimer in response to a viral post titled “ODU Congratulates Eluku-Omo Adugbo and Ofe-Aran on Primary Victories,” which was circulated by an obscure group identified as Offa De-Elite Union. The statement was made by Dr. Rauf Abiodun Oladipo, the ODU National General Secretary.
ODU, a prominent socio-cultural organization known for its non-religious and non-political stance, has made it clear that it is not affiliated with the aforementioned post and condemns its ill-motivated and provocative nature.
“ODU dissociates herself from this ill-motivated provocative post and title,” the statement partially reads, emphasizing that the Union’s primary focus is on community growth and development rather than partisan politics.
The Union reassured the public that it will officially recognize and congratulate the successful candidates from all political parties in Offa at the appropriate time. ODU plans to engage with these candidates, regardless of their party affiliations, to negotiate for the good governance and development of the Offa Local Government Council.
ODU appealed to all residents of Offa to maintain peace during the ongoing political processes. “We appeal to all good people of Offa to give peace a chance while various political parties are in the process of identifying their flag bearers,” the statement urged.
Additionally, Alhaji Muideen Olaniyi Azeez Salako, ODU Global President, extended the warm greetings of HRM Kabiyesi Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Ajagungbade I to the people, reinforcing the Union’s dedication to the community’s well-being.
