The Offa Descendants Union (ODU), under the leadership of Alhaji Muhydeen Olaniyi Azeez Salako, has applauded the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) for the historic commissioning of its Business Hub in Offa. This significant development, which took place on Thursday, August 29, 2024, marks a new chapter in the energy sector of Offa and its surrounding areas, promising to spur economic growth and improve the quality of life for residents of Offa and Oyun Local Government Areas (LGAs).
The opening of the IBEDC Business Hub in Offa is more than just an infrastructural advancement; it represents a strategic effort to revolutionize energy distribution in the region. This Business Hub is expected to be a game-changer for local businesses, enhancing their operational capacity and contributing to the overall economic prosperity of the area.
Alhaji Muhydeen Olaniyi Azeez Salako, ODU Global President, through his representative, Vice President 1, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibilola Bello, extended his gratitude to the management and staff of IBEDC for their dedication to this project. He highlighted the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders, including traditional rulers like the Olofa of Offa, HRM Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, and other distinguished personalities, in making the Offa IBEDC Business Hub a reality.
The successful commissioning of the Offa Business Hub was made possible by the concerted efforts of multiple stakeholders, including the Kwara State House of Assembly’s House Committee on Energy, led by Hon. Seun Ogunniyi Adato. The event was graced by various dignitaries, such as High Chief Joseph Akinola, Ojomu of Offa, who represented the Olofa of Offa, and High Chief Isiaka Adebayo Shittu, Asalofa of Offa. The presence of these key figures underscored the importance of this project to the Offa community.
Notably, the event was also attended by HRM Oba Sharafadeen Adeniyi Buhari, the Onijagbo of Ijagboland, and the two honourable members of the Kwara State House of Assembly from Offa, Hons. JK Yusuf and Seun Ogunniyi Adato. Their support and contributions were instrumental in bringing the Offa Business Hub to fruition.
In his closing remarks, Alhaji Tajudeen Ibilola Bello, ODU National Vice President 1, emphasized the critical role that the newly established relationship between the Offa community and IBEDC will play in enhancing local businesses and improving the lives of residents.
